As members of MOAS, we share a common interest in Asian Art and Culture. Yet within
that unity resides a great diversity. For this meeting, let's share our interests and some
of the insights we have gathered as we explored this vast subject. Bring one or more
artifacts in one or more of the following suggested categories.

All Asian cultures, countries and eras are welcome.
  • A favorite piece: something that really speaks to you in a personal way
  • Something that tells a story or has its own unique story
  •  Something that is an example of specialized material and/or technique
  •  A mystery object: something that has puzzled you as to age, material, use or origin
  • Something that has fooled you: a fake or something other than you thought
  • Something that has a connection with a well-known person or event
We'd like to share open discussion, stories, ideas, opinions and theories in a relaxed
informal way. David Pepper will be present to help us.

Following the presentation, there will be a short business meeting to discuss elections
and future meeting dates. After the meeting, you are invited to join a group dining
at the Mongolian Buffet, East 12 Mile at Ryan.

Maureen Esther, guest speaker at the February 17th Meeting, was delighted by her
reception and wants to express her appreciation for the warm response from MOAS
 members.

Next Meeting: Sunday, April 21, 2013, Natsu Oyobe, Phd, Associate Curator of Asian
Art, The University of Michigan Museum of Art, title to be announced.
